OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

As we approach the month of October in just one week I had the pleasure of putting together a few items (my personal favorites) that donate all or a portion of their proceeds to organizations that assist with funding for finding a cure for breast cancer.

Philosophy Shower For The Cure

A portion of the proceeds from Power Kiss will be given to CEW's Cancer and Careers, an organization that helps provide inspiration and insight to working women with cancer.

Men can also show their support to breast cancer research! Sean John Fragrances will make a donation of $10,000 in connection with the sales of Unforgivable Eau de Toilette spray to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

From New York to Tucson

I had the pleasure of meeting an amazing Wedding/Event Planner, Anne Bryan of Creative Events LLC. I actually reached out to Anne as I'm always looking to introduce my luxury candle collection to new and interesting people. Who would have thought this was the beginning of a successful business partnership!

Calling All Designers!

I have recently stumbled across amazing websites for up and coming designers like myself. In the world we live in today with so many talented people trying to showcase their products and services, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle with other competitors while trying to become the next big thing!

Seeking Designers is a great resource website for the fabulous to find the fabulous! It's really that simple! You have great designers for home, apparel, accessories, children, etc. You name it they have the designer for it. This is the start of a very successful relationship as you have the "Seekers" that are members of Seeking Designers, looking for "Designers" for an event, a new wholesale account for a boutique, and/or personal use. This is a win-win opportunity for both individuals as Seeking Designers is very selective with who they feature on their website.

If that isn't enough for you there's also a fabulous company called Etsy. This website features designers to sell their products to buyers that are interested in the specified category! If that isn't easy enough, I don't know what is. This is a FREE service to showcase your product to individuals that are specific to what they are looking for. Another match made in heaven! Ok, so you want to know what's the catch, right? No catch! Well, if you consider Etsy only accept handmade products as a catch, sorry to disappoint you.

The hit BRAVO television show Top Design is back for Season 2 (check your local listings for times aired.)! If you have the slightest interest in interior design, I know you share my excitement! Margaret Russell, Editor-In-Chief of Elle Decor Magazine is a judge to critique these wannabe interior designers (no offense to these talented individuals as they can put together a gorgeous room a hell of a lot better than I can!).

Speaking of Margaret Russell, this would be the perfect time to talk about her fabulous book "So Chic... Glamorous Lives, Stylish Spaces" that hit book stores and boutiques 1 year ago... Definitely a favorite in my book collection! This book has upscale and luxury taste that you can easily duplicate (at a cost for less) and transform for your own home!

I had the pleasure of meeting the fabulous and poised Margaret Russell during her book signing at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. As "chic" and opinionated as she appears to be on Top Design, she is "So Sweet" as well! What a lovely lady! Margaret was so nice, she let a stalker like myself (just kidding) take a picture with her!

Once you've completed your decorated room, the perfect accessory to brighten up your new decor home is a Helen Julia Soy Candle! Now that's SO CHIC! :-)
