Remembering Michael Jackson aka The King Of Pop

As the world continues to mourn the death of a legacy of our generation, Michael Jackson, we are all celebrating his life as Michael Jackson has touched us all in some way, shape or form. From his dance moves, one sparkling glove, cool pilot shades (before Tom Cruise in Top Gun), jheri curls (yes, I took it there), penny loafers, white socks and our pants slightly high watered to imitate the beginning of a musical phenomenon and icon!

I wasn't born yet when The Jackson 5 made their first debut. However, at the age of 4, I was quickly mesmerized by this group of young boys singing great songs that I wanted to dance to and watch on television on shows such as Soul Train, American Bandstand and The Jackson 5 cartoon! Michael Jackson immediately stood out amongst his four brothers. Your eyes were solely focused only on Michael Jackson as he performed.

I can go on and on and on with childhood memories revolving around Michael Jackson's music from dance routines, entertaining family members by imitating The Jackson 5, joining fan clubs and having my first real crush on a boy, Michael Jackson! Every young girl wanted to marry Michael Jackson even while not understanding what marriage was. We were in love (or so we thought)! That's all that mattered.

I can recall one particular day that I will remember for the rest of my life; on my 11th birthday, Motown 25 aired that night. I rushed home from grade school, finished my homework, got into my pj's, my birthday celebration was in full effect; birthday cake, gifts, love from parents and the icing on the cake was watching Michael Jackson perform Billie Jean in his sparkly blazer, sparkly glove, sparkly socks and the Moonwalk was born!

Here's to remembering Michael Jackson then, now and forever!

The Beginning Of A Legendary Superstar...
Michael would imitate James Brown's moves
The perfect Afro! Does anyone still have a fist pick!
The Crush Begins Here! What a heartthrob!
Need I say more... Wow!
The famous Thriller Jacket that had everyone doing the Thriller dance amongst the living dead! The living dead never had so much rhythm! No album has EVER sold more copies than Thriller to date! Thriller is the #1 album in history!
We will always remember Michael Jackson, The King Of Pop and that gorgeous smile of his! All of his hit songs such as; P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thang), Rock With You, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, Off The Wall, Do You Remember The Time, and of course THRILLER and the list goes on and on with hit after hit after hit!

R.I.P. Michael Jackson! You will be missed and most importantly NEVER forgotten!

If you need a reason, look at the children, look in the mirror, look at the people you care about. Help save them by saving the world.

P.S
I did the other comment, too.
